ELIGIBILITY
NATIONALITY
The applicant for admission should be a resident Indian national and should have studied in schools located in India, during the preceding two years.
Undergraduate Programs
B.Tech.
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent and
(a) For all programs: Minimum 60% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry.
(b) For Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering: Minimum 60% aggregate in Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
SRM Engineering Entrance Exam (EEE) -2009
Candidates who have attempted physics, chemistry and mathematics in the SRM EEE are eligible for all the B.Tech. degree programs.
Candidates who have attempted physics, chemistry and biology in the SRM EEE are eligible only for B.Tech. biotechnology, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, bio process engineering, food process engineering and genetic engineering programs.
B.Arch.
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent, having a minimum total aggregate of 60% with English and mathematics as subjects of study and a minimum NATA score of 80 out of 200.
No separate entrance examination will be conducted by SRM University. However, candidates have to apply in the prescribed application form for admission to B.Arch. program.
B.Des.
A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent, with a minimum aggregate of 60%.
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
A Bachelor's degree with minimum aggregate of 60%.
Postgraduate Program in Management (PGPM)
A Bachelor's degree with minimum aggregate of 60%. Preference will be given to candidates with work experience of 1-2 years.
Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
A pass with minimum aggregate of 60% in the under mentioned "Bachelor's Degree" of any university or equivalent thereto, provided they have undergone the course under 10+2+3 or under the Open University system.
B.C.A/ B.E.S./ B.Sc. Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Statistics/ Applied Sciences/ Information Technology/ Computer Technology.
OR
B.Com./ Bachelor of Bank Management/ B.B.A./ B.L.M./ B.A. (Corporate Secretaryship/ B.A. Economics/ any other bachelor's degree, in any discipline, with Business Mathematics and Statistics or Mathematics/ Statistics at main/ allied level.
OR
B.Sc. Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as allied subjects.
OR
B.E./ B.Tech./ MBA.
OR
A bachelor's degree in any discipline, with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the Higher Secondary level (i.e., in +2 level of the 10+2 pattern).
Eligibility conditions such as the minimum percentage of marks/ CGPA obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination shall be as prescribed by the university from time to time.
Admission Procedure
For B.Tech. Program
• Admission will be purely on the basis of the candidate's performance in the Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by SRM University
• Candidates short-listed based on their performance in the entrance examination will be called for the counseling to be held at the SRM University premises in Kattankulathur, Chennai
For B.Arch Program
• Admission to the B.Arch. program will be based on the aggregate of marks secured in the qualifying examination & the NATA score
• The meritorious candidate list will be drawn giving 50% weightage to aggregate of total marks secured in qualifying examination & 50% weightage to NATA score
• Based on the ranking, admissions will be offered to the candidate
For B.Des. Program
• Admission to B.Des. program will be purely on the basis of performance in the Higher Secondary examination. Candidates short listed based on their Higher Secondary marks will be offered admission directly.
For M.Tech. Program
• Admission to this program will be on the basis of performance in the Entrance Test conducted by SRM University. However candidate with valid GATE score can also apply and will be considered for admission. Merit list will be prepared and candidates will be called for counseling.
For MBA and PGPM Programs
• Admission to these programs will be on the basis of performance in the Entrance Test conducted by SRM University. However, candidates with a valid score in CAT/ MAT can also apply and will be considered for admission.
• Merit list will be prepared, candidates will be called for group discussion and a personal interview will complete the selection process
For MCA Program
• Admission to this program will be on the basis of performance in the Entrance Test conducted by SRM University
• Merit list will be prepared and candidates will be called for counseling
Issue of Application Forms
On Campus
Application Forms and information brochures will be available at the University Office and at the University Campus on payment of Rs.750.00 by cash or by post with a DD for Rs.750.00 favouring SRMIST, payable at Chennai.
On the Web
Candidates can also apply online or download the application form http://www.srmuniv.ac.in , and send it along with a DD for Rs.750 favoring SRMIST, payable at Chennai, to the Dean - Admissions.
By Post
Application forms can also be obtained on cash payment of Rs.750 from all main branches of the State Bank of India, Indian Bank, Axis Bank, City Union Bank Limited, Karur Vysya Bank Limited and Post Offices.
