More CBSE schools to come up in city....






There might be some good news in store for parents seeking their child's admission in a school offering Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus. Seventeen applications to start CBSE schools in the near future have been made so far to the board!

Given the growing cosmopolitan nature of Ahmedabad, there is a huge demand for CBSE schools as their syllabus is considered to be superior than state board syllabus. Moreover, students studying in CBSE schools are deemed to easily get admissions in schools outside the state.

This year, the city saw an unprecedented rush, with parents lining up outside prestigious CBSE schools like Prakash Higher Secondary School at midnight itself to get forms early, before they get exhausted!

Sources in education department told TOI that at least seven schools have applied for permission to start CBSE curriculum. These include Nirman High School, Vastrapur, Cosmos Castle, SG Highway, Learning Paradise, Vedant School, Maninagar, Asaram Trust School, Sabarmati.

Leading corporate houses like Nirman have also applied for permission to offer CBSE curriculum in their new school, which is expected to come up on Satellite Road.

In Ahmedabad, there are only 17 schools offering CBSE curriculum including the Kendriya Vidyalayas in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, while the number of CBSE schools all over the state stands at 60.

The draw for Residential Plots Scheme XT001 was to be held on December 2008 by the Greater Noida Authority. It has now been decided to hold the Plots Draw on 22nd, 23rd and 24th December 2008.

Decision regarding holding the greater NOIDA plots draw 2008 on three days instead of just 22nd Dec, was taken due to a large number of applivants. According to inmformation available from greater NOIDA authority, the residentia plots draw 2008 will be held at India Exposition Mart Ltd, Knowledge Park III, Greater NOIDA.

SBI State Bank Of India Recruitment Update at sbi.co.in 2008

The recruitment drive for its associate banks follows SBI saying earlier last month that it would hire 25,000 people in the current financial year ~ a move that comes at a time when banks across the world are mostly trimming their workforce in the backdrop of a global financial crisis.
The various associate banks for which SBI is looking to recruit staff include, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Indore, State Bank of Patiala and State Bank of Travancore.
There are more than 1,000 vacancies each with State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Patiala and State Bank of Travancore, between 240 and 440 employees would be recruited for each of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Indore and State Bank of Mysore.
SBI chairman Mr OP Bhatt said on 16 November that SBI was hiring 20,000 clerical staff and 5,000 people in supervisory positions in the current financial year.
In its previous major hiring spree, SBI had announced, about a year ago, plans to increase its as well as the associate banks' headcount by about 10,000 people.
